So find the specs on the SR18 cams. This will tell you if they are better or not.

After some quick searching it says that the SR18 had more compression to give it 140hp and 123ft/lb. Still trying to find cam specs.

Buy them both and take it to the dyno. Your asking for information that might not exist, so why not provide us with the results instead of us doing your homework for you?

you said they have more lift and duration.
So ask yourself, is that better or worse

Edit: And yeah, if you could dyno with both cams that will be a good feedback

A lot of smart people have responded to HELP you.

You just joined this web forum at the very most, 25 days ago.

A lot of us have been dealing with DE/VE engines for 5 years, heck 10 years.

Please take advice from us, we are not telling you what to do, but merely trying to help you wasting time and effort over 1 whp or 0.5 ft-lbs of torque.

Someone on the other forum posted up FSM specs of those cams (bigtom) but he took the pictures of the FSM down. I swear I remember seeing the duration at 232, in that case, they are just are worthless as the low-port cam.

Now if you even think about purchasing aftermarket cams, now it is time to strongly consider a VE since that would be probably at least $200. And that is more than 1/4 the cost of a VE.

For a budget build you can not beat the highport cam.

yeah for budget highport cams, however, they dont get huge gains over what you are already running, i would save for cams
