Napa has one... Great ! I was thinking that I had to get one at the junkyard off an Infiniti or something!! Ive been looking for a knit-strap at several local part store and nothing... Didnt ask when I was in Napa..

A Long strap is actually good, as I will probably cut it & strap down on both sides of the cat...

Thanks for the info...

For the record, I don't have any strange readings whatsoever on my o2 sensor, since I replaced it.

I was just like you, thinking the header has a metal gasket & several bolts and that should be a good enough ground~~~~ Testing says NOPE>>>
Its noticable when just idling. The O2 sensor stays either Rich or Lean but no movement. When adding the ground, it bounces back and forth like normal. The O2 sensor also stays at Lean sometimes when at a stop light and the idle drops to like 600rpm at operating temps.

For some reason, Stainless Steel dont provide a good ground... Who freaking knew!!

Stainless steel has a much higher electrical resistance than regular steel, iron, or aluminum. Perhaps the best way to address this would be to somehow run a grounding strap from the body directly to the o2 sensor hole. Or possibly run several grounding straps from points on the exhaust system.

Nice work, Scotty. Never considered something like this.

oh no.........two electrical guys both in the D.C area electrical help is always the great!

ok, today i went to the shop and grabbed the 9004 connectors from jen's parts car. i used the pin out i found from rallylights.com and didn't pay attention to the wire color from the actuall connectors. once i had them all tested and figured out i soldered and heat shrinked them all as well as added extra grounds useing a larger wire. WORKS AMAZING! turns out we had the ground and low beam wire switch so when the low beam was out it was in reverse polarity and found a ground via the high beam circuit.

i did notice something interesting tho. once i had it all wired up all the wires and colors were the same from the nx2k connector and the sentra harness save 1 wire.

connector high beam was a black wire with a red stripe. sentra harness was a red wire with a black stripe a little weird, oh well. next step is to install 9007 and repin the connector.

I don't know much about electrical stuff. Less than Scotty, maybe a little more than Keo.

Agreed.. The resistance sucks.. Im going to pickup some Napa grounding straps tomorrow at lunch. I will be doing some testing this week with the straps in different locations to find the best grounding locations.

Thanks.. I wouldnt have considered it either until I started having high idle issues.. That forced me to perform detail test of all items in the equation. And the O2 sensor is definitely one..

Maybe I can get Jen or Pete or Keo to tap-weld the new grounding strap in place permanently next Saturday.

So Pete. Glad to see that you got it all wired up..
What car did you do the 9004 connectors on?
And what car are you doing the 9007 connectors on?

Yep. I found the same when I did the EDM headlight conversion. We found the headlights on the Sentra, G20, NX2000 US and NX2000 EDM was only one wire. We also found the NX2000 Canadian was 2 wires different (we think because of the daytime running lights).. But when you think about it, this would make it easier at the factory for multiple cars with only a single wire pinout difference.

a few things. im intrested in getting a nice electrical system going on. so you have it all figured out im going to copy the set up.

second, if you wait till sunday i can get my buddy to come out and do any welding that you need. granted we only have a wire feed mig with no gas. he is an experienced welder and wont make a mess of the metal.

third. i put the 9004 connectors on my 93 because i installed a sunny grill and 91headlights. 9004 connectors are the same as 9007 connectors but 9007's are wired differantly.

Haha, sorry I could've told you that too but I didn't realize they were coming out of an NX. The FSM has a different setup for the hatch and sedan/coupe.
