Thread: Passenger door won't open.

Yesterday I went to pick up the boy from school, and the lady at the drive up line tries to shut my door, and it bounces back towards her. Tries again, same thing. I try, same thing. Nothing obstructing. Pull off, get out, fiddle with the little lock/flipper thing on the door, hold the door shut then get activate the doorlock at the same time...door stays shut. Now, it won't open. I can't take the doorskin off because I can't reach the screws when it's closed..what to do? Any ideas, or do I have to take it somewhere and have them open it?

I had to recently replace the door latch mechanism in my G20 for the same reason. Luckily, I was able to still open the door after playing with the exterior handle and key. Once I realized I would prolly be locked out again, I quickly removed the entire latch mechanism from the door, then held the door shut with bungee cords until I could find a new one.

I read over that, but I'm a little confused. Am I going to have to destroy my door panel to fix this? What about a locksmith - would they be able to pop it open if I took it there? I'm waiting on a reply about a door panel now - if I can get one I won't care about how much I have to mutilate the panel.

How funny, the same thing happened to my sons NX yesterday. I came on here to see if there was a thread about this.

Got a spare door panel here and I'm going to try to get the door open this weekend. Does anyone else have any tips before I start mutilating the door? It sure would be nice if the pics where BBYE V8 had to cut his door were still up.

Pull of the window trim look down the window track u should be able to see the latch assembly there is a small lever u can push to activate the latch which will open the door. I'll see if I can take some pics when I get home

Can I ask where you got it at? I still need a drivers side?
