I still dont think the GA trans is any stronger, the GA has less torque than the SR. Wes needs to chime in since i dont know what his graphs looked like.

Im just sayin.....but has anyone actually tried and killed a GA16 tranny and at what hp?

I mean this is a super long shot. But it would be cool if it worked. But we would need an adaptor plate or something to bolt it up.

i dont think it can be done. we talked about it before like 3 years ago and nobody had any input to put on it.

^THIS.

^ Also for the record we are taking about the MANUAL trans not the auto GA16DE trans. It would be cool to see like Wang said.

Auto SR tranny built would be a better deal

GA trannies are weak also. There have been instances where a p11 trans is bolted to a ga16de. Guys remember that 340whp GA16? It had a p11 trans in it. Jp(540whp stock VE)has more info on it.

I had an post on this a while back. Forget the Ga tranny. The KA tranny can hold alot more torque.

An adapter plate to bolt the tranny to the block is only half of the battle. You still have to worry about the input shaft length/diameter/splines, starter is in a different location.

The only upside to using it would be that the ga axles would bolt right up and the ga shift linkage should also
