GA Tranny bolted to sr20
Would there be any benefits to bolting on a Ga transmission to a sr20...would this even work if some type of adapter plate was made to bolt on the ga trans?. This question came about because the d series transmissions on the hondas seem to support a lot of power and are very reliable when bolted to b-series engines.

But what would you do about a LSD? Also I doubt they are any stronger.

The GA16 is a beast yo. It's gotta have a better transmission right?

The QG18 comes with a better transmission than the SR20. That just proves that smaller is better...

especially from the waste down. errr... huh?

Yes....The funny thing is that this is the same thing that they said about the
d-series trans when the idea was brought to the table, now everyone is hopping on the train now. It's lighter tranny with tighter ratios and shorter and stubbier,
designed gears. The In my opinion problem with the de trans is a simple fix I just don't under stand why nobody has stepped up to the plate and address the issue. I have a idea... No cryo, no shot peening, no dog gears involved. I by far, am no genius...just a man with ideas.

better question is what would all be involved in getting it to work. there's a good reason you don't hear about sr20's with ga16 trannys, they dont exactly come together nicely.

Bolt on a B15 or P11 trans and be done. Why go through all of the trouble to test it? Have you cracked open a GA trans and compared it to a SR trans? No. You are just spouting ideas for no reason. Why not use a 370z Trans, it has to be much stronger.

The QG18 comes in a heavier car, thus a stronger trans. Same thing when comparing the B13-14 trans to the B15 P11. The GA16 came in smaller cars and a little less HP so i would doubt it is stronger. Its the torque to get the car moving that usually kills the trans.

Maybe Wes should chime in. Anyone know what he was running? But i think he was tuned down to around 200WHP for his class. I could be wrong.

40-80 lbs more torque will grenade that tranny

If that is the truth then so be it, it was just a idea.

Short answer would the Ga trans would be more cost effective and more readily available, I have yet to see a 370z trans at a scrap yard and you probably won't find one less than 2 grand. Heck I have yet to even find a b15 trans in the scrap yards in my area.
