Whats the deal here? If I try to shift into 2nd when I floor it out of 1st it doesn't go in.. I can feel the shifter go all the way down but it feels like it grinds a little bit so I don't want to keep trying. I have a bad rear engine mount so maybe this is the cause? New clutch as well... What can I do here...

1st gear lockout is a feature/"feature" of our transmissions.

I just put some gear oil in! Walmart ftw! lol... How does gear oil effect it that much? MT-90 is too expensive for me

Well thats the problem man, what kind of gear oil did you use? Walmart FTL, they do not even carry GL4 gear oil, which is what you need. Our transmissions use brass synchronizers and GL5 oil will destroy them.

How would gear oil not affect it that much? your synchronizers need it to function properly, which yours are clearly not.

Get whatever crap oil you used out of your poor transmission ASAP and get something GL4. I know it's expensive, but you really need to get some decent oil, you will be amazed at the difference it makes.

Especially if it's "super tech" gear fluid.....your should drain that asap.

What if it's synthetic Gl-5? Shouldn't GL-5 super exceed the abilities of the gl-4 making it compatible for everything else below?

NO, get some Redline MTL or MT90 and be done. I have had this same issue until i put MT90 in.
