Thread: Codes magically disappeared

So for the past couple of months I've been throwing EVAP code and knock sensor codes...0705, 0304, 0309. I bought a new gas cap, made sure my vent valve was working and reset the codes. It was clear for a couple of days then I pumped gas and as soon as I drive off the SES light comes back on. This happened multiple times and its always after I pump gas. I finally gave up and quit resetting the codes so my SES light is on constantly......till today, it shuts off by itself and when I went to check it gave me 0505 code which is a no code thrown message......any insight on this?

Maybe the malfunction was a fluke. Some thrown codes need X amount of cycles to auto clear.

Maybe...but I did reset the thing about 10 times within the last 3 months.

Fixed itself for a few times to clear off? It may come back, be on the look. I have had it happen to me before.

I'm hoping it would stay away...the only thing I haven't checked yet is the ground cable on the bottom o2 sensor, but I don't think that has anything to do with the codes I'm throwing'

Nice. Mine popped up a code on Monday. Went away this morning on my way to work. I checked it via Consult and it was EGR Function. I have had that be a "phantom" code and did not clear it just to see what would happen.

It's been a year since I reset the code...it hasn't come back yet, but will see next week since my smog check is coming up due

Mine came on a few weeks ago. Have not reset it or checked it, but I know it will say EGR.

Codes dont vanish . Its stored in the history or freeze frame . Check for pending codes aswell.
