Thread: HELP PLEASE! Car Drinks gas like beer!

Alright so i have a problem and could use the help. My car is a 91 se-r with a JDM de i have Headers,intake and other small stuff. So i have my 02 in the 1st bung which only reads one cylinder, now should i have it on the 2nd bung where it reads 2 or how could i go about this? i dont smash on my car as cant waste gas i need it.i topped if with 91 chevron i dont put cheap gas, ive gotten about 43 miles and im almost down to like above half a tank and below 3/4 now that is nothing right? or is the gas mileage around right? pleaseee need the help asap! thanks again.

Our gas gauges suck for accuracy. Fill the tank, trip the odometer, drive for a while, fill the tank, and report back with how many miles you drove on how many gallons. Also, are you getting any gas smells?

drove 75 miles on half tank =[ and filled back to top with 4.7 gallons? n i have a small gas smell this sucks nuts!did that mad its about 15-16 miles a gallon wtffff not cool! its not a damn 350 diesel=[

If you smell gas where is it coming from? Under the hood? Out the tail pipe? You could have a hose leaking under the hood, check the clamps on the fuel filter and fuel rail, our on the tank itself

its actually out the tail pipe a light smell but you can smell it? checked under my hood now one drop of anything.=/

Have you checked for a leaky injector or an air leak in one of the vacuum hoses?

Or the infamous leaking gas tank vent hose? Fill it up and park it nose up on a hill, that's how I found my tank leak!

changed my 02 censor to the bung where it reads 2 cylinders now and i rans 90 miles on a quater tank!!!

What do you mean to the bung? The one right off the block?
