lightweight battery options thread.
ill start this off by noting I know most people just say PC680 and be done with it.

However this is for those looking for a reference on light AGM batteries who want other options.
I on the other hand I don't want to pay abhorrent prices for in my opinion for a Subpar battery.

I've been looking around for a while and have a few options..

Ext16l- made by deka, rated at 325 cca.100cca higher than the pc680. Tested it and it put out 475cca at 12.4v.
A bit hefty at 16lbs end about 25% larger than the 680.
Price- 109.99 at Batteries Plus. 2 year warranty

X2-15l- also made by Deka under the X2 brand. Rated at 220cca. Tested and put out 385cca also at 12.4v.
Weight- 11lbs
Dimensions- smaller than the 680 by about 20%
Price- 85.99 at BatteriesPlus with a two year free replacement warranty.

I ended up getting the X2-15l as its half the price and puts out more actual cca AND weighs less than the pc680 with the same warranty.

If you know electronics pretty well you could most likely figure out something like this:

YouTube - LiPo battery integra engine cranking test, Turnigy Nano-tech 45-90C.avi

1lb battery, lol.

But actually 4 cell A123 would work better. 12v - 14.4v is the voltage range that a lead acid battery operates at

I'll be doing it to my car when i have the $.
Should be about 5-7 pounds.

A lot of turbo guys have to relocate batteries to the trunk for intercooler piping.

Plus its the easiest way to shed 20+ pounds or in my case 30 lbs.
