Thread: p1400 code

have a 98 sentra se throwing a p1400 code. From what i understand it is a dealer code for the egr solenoid. I have a jdm mani with no egr bs on it, is there any way around this?

The only fix is to reinstall the EGR.

A resistor will not do it. The EGR has a variable voltage state, and OBD2 knows when it's being tampered with.

Solution: move a few states over :P

I experimented with an EGR solenoid today from the 99 G20 and I get 8 ohms of resistance across the terminals. You should be able to just keep the solenoid plugged in and it will not throw a code.

Just plug in a new solenoid. Getting the thing to give a readiness code however, that's another story.
