Thread: Starters...all SR20 the same?

i dont know why the prices are different all i know is get the one with the "cone" on the end it helps with starter squeel by supporting the bendix better so it doesnt stick to the flywheels teeth by getting caught brom the shaft torqueing.

i had the old style one and it always got caught ever since new. put the newer style and i beleive the "cheaper one" and she starts like a champ

the brushes to repair these things are like $8.00 from courtesy nissan. rebuilding a starter is not a big deal. sometimes the starter will not work because of the commutator on the armature is dirty and needs to be cleaned. all you need to know how to do is to solder the new brushes on the brush holder.
