I order parts from Rock Auto pretty often and run into problems once in a while. What happens is that some people will receive the part from Rock Auto, install it onto their car, and then put a similar part in the box and return it to Rock Auto to get their money back. It is a crappy thing to do but a lot of people do it. Let me give you another example of poor huiman behavior, this happened to me recently. I ordered a thrmostat for my wife's mazda 3. The thermostat comes together with the plastic housing from the parts supplier. I open my box and just the housing is in the box, someone got the part before me, removed the thermostat from the housing and returned the housing in the box to get their money back. When I called them about the thermostat they just told me to keep the housing and they sent me a new one with the thermostat. I also have reveived motor mounts from them that don't fit. Rock auto is SO HUGE that it doesn't make sense for them to pursue these kinds of things, and that's why ordering from them is becoming a gamble. You will get the right part eventually but waiting for it is a hassle. Most of the time it is worth it to pay a couple of extra dollars and go to the local parts store, this way you can see the part before you bring it home.
