damaged part from rock auto.
ordered a DS from rock auto. the cardone select, and for the price ($44.xx) i was fairly suprised with the quality. i only bought the cheapest one because i got a small check this week from work, and HAAAD to get something, i dont usually buy cheap parts, but this looks ok.

so it wasnt toooo bad but there is a protective shield around one end of the DS, to protect the tranny seal. this was smashed down flat to the axle, and i had to hacksaw it off and throw it away. couldve been worse. and i had no time to do a return. even tho it was a small thing, i feel that shield provides a nice benefit, and i wouldve liked to have that.

moral of the story, it never hurts to ask specifically to have your part packaged well.

That's interesting....Not your exact issue but,

Not to long ago... I was doing a tune up on my wife's and when ordering the part's I picked up to coils and two set's of wires. Yet her car only need's one set of wires. But yet the site said 2 were needed.

Apparently they are not as "correct" as I thought plus the above complaints.

The problem with these online companies is that they don't really hold up to their "warranty" issues. I had a radiator I bought from them because it was $80 cheaper than autozone. But when I got it, the thing had tons of bent fins everywhere and it took FOREVER for them to honor it.

You can't save that much money and not expect a headache when things go wrong. I would like to exchange the one I have now, but it is impossible because I don't keep all the documentation on these things.

Yeah I ordered a new trans mount when I did my swap and the three bolt holes were way off. It wouldn't even fit my auto either. They gave me credit back though.

They are way off sometimes. But it's usually the parts supplier that starts the confusion. I ordered a set of doorman speed bleeders a while back. They don't fit our cars. They will thread in, but won't seat. A few mm short. I even looked them up on the doorman website and they listed it for our cars.
