Thread: Koyo or Mishimoto

^Mishimoto radiator I picked up for the turbo project came in and I compared it to the KOYO that I run in my daily. All the mount points are identical, so you can run the mishimoto fan shroud on the KOYO. I ordered one last week, and it will be here this week. I'll post pics of it mounted on the KOYO so you guys can see.

^The short radiator hose looks like it will need some trimming.



^The long radiator hose looks like it has an extra bend/hump in it that is not needed. Definitely does not look like a direct plug and play but the quality of the parts are good.

I went with the Mishimoto. Haven't installed it yet but it looks like a solid product!

You know why they look identical right? Because all Mishi did is copy someone else already proven product and produce it hella cheaper with hella cheaper materials and manufacturing methods.

I wish I had pictures of when I had a Mishi next to a Koyo, you could see the Mishi core was crooked, half the time people told me they wouldn't mount properly because it wasn't square and the other half the time there were random leaks in the core. I'm all for buying cheaper shit but not for my car but then again we are driving 20 year old FWD taxi cabs

^There has been a redesign on the radiators and they are a lot better than they use to be. I have both so I'll see which one holds up the best.

If you guys want to get the red radiator hoses, buy them from Gspec unless you don't mind cutting them. I decided to get a refund and go with the Gspec hoses. The mishimoto radiator looks like great quality though.

The G-Spec hoses are definitely a direct fit, no cutting necessary.

And don't forget they are not just red, they are red silicone hoses. They look good and offer much greater longevity.
