Time to clear some information up.
SE-L Curb weight: 2617 lbs.
P11 Curb weight: 2923 lbs.
P11's have a rear beam, but the toe is only .10" off instead of B14's .25" (or something that close, my rulers are all standard and I hate fractions).
1999-2001 P11's have 15" rims, 2002 has 16" rims.
P11 has huge front brakes, which are much heavier then stock B14's, rear's are also bigger. All of this = additional rotational mass.
1999 P11 has a Low port and a B14 transmission.
2000-2002 has a Roller rocker with a P11 transmission with smaller first and second gear, my second gear only goes up to 55mph! Part of the problem is the lower redline 6,700 vs 7,100rpm.
Now 00-02 have a 4cw crank coupled with short first and second gears, the P11 revs much faster then my B14 ever has, even with a 10lb flywheel.
Now with all of that in mind, the P11 RR auto transmission is dog slow. 0-60 is something close to 10 seconds. While the 5speed is 8.6 seconds. If you look at the 99 auto P11, it was around 11 seconds 0-60. Mainly because of longer gears and slower reving motor.
Also another thing I noticed is roller rockers have a lot more low end torque and power but fall flat on their face at 5k rpm. An intake helped resolve this issue!
Now P11 does have a much better suspension setup, but it also has a lot of body roll (due to weight), especially with a older shocks. So I would say my SE-L would take the P11 even on twisties. Once I get a stiffer/newer suspension I might have a different opinion.
