Thread: noise possibly from the new clutch???

Try adjusting the clutch cable for a little more free play. The TO bearing might be too close to the PP when not engaged and just hitting it enough to chatter.

maybe a few bolts could be torque wrong or too tight...i've experienced it on my brothers civic...

Try releasing the pedal very slowly. I noticed my 6 pucks would chatter loud if I just release semi-quickly. If I ease up the pedal, the chatter would be very minimal to none at all.

This or I used to kick my clutch pedal till it stopped in nuetral

You have all the symptoms of a noisy throw out bearing. If you push the clutch in and it goes away then its prob the TOB. They are known to make noise on these cars.

^there has to be a mechanical reason that its making noise, its not supposed to.

Ive been through thirty clutches and they all make the same rattling noise form the TOB if you dont let the clutch out in nuetral just right. It wont make the noise all the time once it breaks in. Just sometimes. It kinda sounds like a slight rod knock.

buuuuut, they dont do that when they are new. so what is mechanically failing to make them do it?

Mine does it too and I just press in the clutch then let out and it goes away lol I know my TOB, clutch cable and all that are good but it has to be something with the transmission
