Wheel size to WHP?
Been looking for a guide for something like this, wondering at what HP you should run xxx wide tires. I am wanting to run some 215s at around 350whp, would this tire width be way to small for this amount of HP? Im going to be running boost by gear for the lower gears but wondering if I will still have traction issues?

Traction is related to torque, not power.

Rephrase your questions?

Also, what is your intended use? Street, strip, track?

7 inches wide at least. its not to hard but it isnt to easy to fit 8's and up. maybe theres one guy running 9s on the forum.

im thinking about going to 16x7 this summer from my 15x7 with some stickier tires.

theres plenty of nice options for a 7inch width.

Yea what strat said .On the street once you've gone past the 300hp/250tq mark forget it ! 215/225/235's (if you can fit 235's ) wont cut it on the streets esp on a front wheel drive .
Run slick/steet tire and you still have traction issue (steet driving) and they wont last as long due to tire compound . I say run what size you can fit just be easy on the gas 1-3rd .The track is a whole nother story .

Somebody forgot to tell me that rule. You can have traction on the street in 2-3 with more than your "limit".

I would agree with Nate.

With a P11 trans and RT-615's in 205/15, I didn't have any traction issues until I hit boost

you can fit 225 tires on a stock b14 rim. That's what I have. No rubbing, but you want to make sure all your wheel well trim pieces are tucked away. After the DET install, we never buttoned them down and the clearance is so small one side now has a hole due to the tire eating away at the plastic until someone pointed it out to me lol.

Anything over a 225 I'd guess you're going to rub in turns and bumps w/a b14. Just get sticky summer tires.

This seems to be our best bet:

Hankook Ventus R-S3

comes in 225/45/15

I was running Dunlop Starspecs last summer in 215/40/17, traction was fine besides first at 14psi on a T25. Guess I'm just worried going from 230whp to 350whp is going to kill all street driving. Going to be running the same tires this year again on a 8" wheel so I can get a little stretch to go low. Guess if I'm going to be spinning in 3rd might aswell raise the car and run 235s, not worth having the power if you can't put it down.

How are you planning on fitting a 235 w/out rubbing in turns? B14/B13?

Anyways, besides good tires, a good suspension also helps w/FWD traction. You want to try and keep the weight of the car over the front wheels and not move to the back of the car.
