Make the 10 fit by sanding it a bit...

Or Google

They are not really meant to come out. Those are the casting plugs that were used to empty the casting sand out after the cast was complete. Good luck getting them out as ive tried to get the large one out before (the one just below your circled one in the top picture) and with a breaker bar and it just broke my hex bit. They are not meant to be removed. I believe they have a hardened sealer on them so that they dont ever leak, ever. lol.

I got them all out, but it involved getting them cherry red and grinding down a 10mm, I HAD a 9mm but it was too big! I dont think Nissan ever wanted those to come out again...the bigger one is for use with a block heater IIRC.

...I have succeeded in removing all those plugs... simple propane torch, onto to the hex bit, then mist with a spray bottle real quick... then put the allen in and basically in forceable manner downward angle thrust and ...viola... removed.

on a side note.. not necessary unless you have serious sludge issues with your build, water and compressed air work wonders. COMPRESSED AIR WORKS BEST!!!

Yeah those plugs were not meant to be removed. Ever. haha. And i dont think heating the plug on the block till cherry red is a very smart move. You have to remember our blocks are aluminum and heating it like that could warp the block quite a bit.
