What's the best way to ship bulky/heavy items.
I'm installing a new engine so I need to sell some of my parts hoard. What the best way to ship bulky items like trailer hitches, dash boards, headers, subframe braces (those are 5ft long x 1ft wide), rear knuckles/spindles(those are heavy). I mean the stuff that doesn't fit in your typical box.

For things that are solid metal, like a trailer hitch or subframe braces, can I just tape them in bubble wrap with a label? Is there a better way than Fed Ex or UPS? Do you ask for some special shipping method?

Any input is appreciated. I don't want to put anything up for sale until it's ready to ship and where I live local sales are not really an option.

Smaller items that are just heavy you can do UPS, its about $20-30 for the spindles i sent. I quoted a dash and it was over $100 for ground just because of the size. Freight will cost the average person $300, my work uses freight a lot so i get good deals.

usps have flat rate boxes. the are great for shipping. even if you dont get the box complete squared off. they will still take it. good luck with the big iteams those. they can get pricey.
