Thread: Alternator/Wire issue. Help!

Hey gang. Back in November, I had to put an alternator on the NX2000 after about 300k miles. Fast forward to march, the car started having symptoms of a bad alternator again. Had it tested at Advance, and they said it was the alternator. Preparing to take the alternator off last night, the spade connector basically fell off while loosening the bolt.

Also note that the stud on the alternator snapped right off. Cheap POS. Now, I have enough wire left to possibly put a new spade connector on and get the car going again, but my question to you guys is this - what kind of wire is it? If I want to extend the wire, is that something I can do? What do I need to accomplish said task?

im almost positive ive got an alternator wire harness....you need it?

I'd love to have it. How quick can you get it to me? Is the alternator wire harness its own entity, or part of the whole wire harness assembly or whatever?

I think its a separate harness altogether. Is that the main charging wire that separated? No wonder you were having those symptoms you described, if so.

Yeah, it's the main wire that has the little red boot over top of it. I'd love more information about replacing this entire alternator harness, if anyone wants to share.

alt side:

-plugs into alt
-2 ground connectors

harness/relay box side - pass side behind headlights
-3 plugs into relay box
-1 ground connector






edit: theres also one connector,not sure what its for,its reall small,im almost postivie its for the ac compressor

damn, you dont include the cat for that price?

then it would have to be 25$ flat rate box...lol
