I wouldnt do the burning method to get the rubber out, but it works. You can always try to find a machine shop that will press them out for you.

Red Prothane full mounts are the best. They settle eventually so your car will not vibrate horribly and hold stiffer than shit stuck in a mud hole.

I have prothane motor mounts, and love them. Before that, I had the ES inserts. The prothanes are not difficult to install. I actually found them to be easier than the ES inserts. Good choice on the prothanes.

Yessir. No doubt. Dave Coleman would agree with you.

Big time. The difference is night and day for the better.

That solution might well be perfect.

Place Racing made sets back in the day, same deal. Softer durometer than Prothanes, yet much stiffer than stock. Rare and expensive if you can find a set.

It's just Betty Crocker cookie mix in the bag. However, the butter used in the cookies is not "off the shelf."

That is what I was trying to say earlier.

I agree prothanes are far cheaper than oem. The vibration isnt too much of a hastle unless your in grid lock traffic. They make the car feel more alive. Lmao
As far as getting them out i used an air hammer with a thin tip to put em in i used a ball joint press with a impact gun and a press. Getting em out was the hard part.

The way I do all my bushings now is torch the old ones out and then just cut the metal sleeve. You get motor mounts done in less time that way. Pressing them is such a pain it's not worth it anymore to me.

When I did my mounts I put them in a vice and used an air hammer on the edges of the metal inserts and knocked them out with the air hammer, then pressed them in. Took all of 45min to do all the mounts at work.

one point of view is that if you do inserts with your worn stock mounts, the worn mounts will soak up some of the vibration, but then having the inserts will give you the benefits of hard mounts.

thoughts???

Nah, you're replacing the stock mount material with prothane, just pressing it into the stock housings. Can't say they'll 'absorb' anything, and can't say mine have ever been 'worn' housings either
