Clutch problem
Replaced the clutch in my 2001 SE but the clutch just drops to the floor.

Tried bleeding it 20x and nothing.

Is there something special to bleeding a hydraulic clutch?

After pumping the clutch several times the pressure finally builds somewhat. Then drop to the floor again. The car will go in gear and reverse, but go 1-2mph and thats it. Can shift into any gear and it will not stall either.

Any ideas?

Few notes, there was a cylinder piece of metal (about 2 inches long) that fell out of somewhere when taking the tranny off to take off the old clutch.

The clutch pressure plate sits kinda far from the disc. Not sure why? It's a South Bend stage 3 clutch and throw out bearing.

yeah, that cylinder piece was probably an alignment dowel that fell out, fyi.

As for your clutch pressure, and your gap between the pp/disc, how much of a gap is there? Sounds like the pp is never engaging on the disc at all...

It was about an inch or so off. I'm not experienced with clutch installs so that's what I was told.

Seems Keo is on point as the spacer may be for the slave cylinder.
