Thread: head lights just stopped workimg

So my head lights just stopped working, i didmt, fimd any blown fuse or anything, kind weird...one day I just parked, and both went out and don't come on....but my fogs and parking lights work....

Relay maybe?

I on my phone, so its hard to type,

relay or ground maybe??

tearoff guy,do you know which black box it is in in the bay?

i have the VW projectors,with an hid kit....never had a problem(with the kit)for over3 years..used in both of my nx's

its goes:
factory 9004 connector-9004 hid connector to the balast ,then to the HID bulb(ithink its h7) in the VW projectors...

it was raining that day, and one puddle has me wondering.....but its kinda weird that when i got hoime...parked thennn they just went out...weird

yeah that is weird ,, I wonder if something got wet now... I'll look tomorrow at the relays..

It could be low voltage at the ballast, or the relay for the ballast is dead. Check power at the factory plug, then at the input of the relay, then at the output. Grounds are also a good thing to check.

ok so did some messing around....fuses under the dash are good..dont even say anything bout headlights...

headlights fuses are next to the battery,both are 15amp fuses labled LEFT and RIGHT headlight..

--both fuses were blown, i replaced them tured on the head lights...and the right didnt work,left side did.....for a min,not even


--replaced them again,last 2 15 amp fuses...still didnt go on....but when i hit the highbean/brights,i flicked them...they left headlight went on, when it shouldnt,cuz its only wired into my lowbeams.....kinda weird

they didnt work,fuse is blown again,but only left side....wtf right side still isnt working..


why is there a whit wire coming from the leftside headlight harness,under the rad support to the right sideheadlight harness...??? this was also on my old 91 nx...

damn i need some more 15 fuses....

Check the head light switch. Had a similar problem and found the head light switch was grounded out.

like the switch one the steering colum? how or what woould i check?


i do also have an hid kit to use with my VW projectors...





damn i hate not having parts that i sold from my old nx...

yes the switch on the column. its very easy to burn one up. When mine went bad I had not low beams, but had high beams. the parking lights also worked. I used the circuit diagram in the fsm to figure out the switch burned up.
