Transmission question
So lynchfourtwenty was over at my house today. We tore apart my tranny, replaced the gear stack with one i got from a guy on here. Everythign went great, we got it back together, and then our snag. We cant get the case to go back on. Seems like its getting stuck on the first through fourth gear stack, like the top bearing is moved so it doesnt want to fit through? Has anyone ran into something like this, or have any suggestions. Are there a difference in size between the b14 and b13 gear stack bearing? they look the same size. Josh may make a post later, or chime in here. Any suggestions lol, other than banging it with a rubber mallete untill it fits >.<

Did you compare the gear stack from that thread and make sure that everything is the same?

the 2 stacks we have in hand LOOK identical..

his tranny had 3rd gear pop out, all other gears worked fine.. so we took the tranny out, noticed the input shaft seal was leaking, so he orderd a new gear stack then a input shaft seal.

Then we noticed the input shaft bearing was TOAST, it was even missing a ball bearing.. not sure where it ran off to tho? So then we found a new one then put everything back together very carefully an thoroughly..

If you used one stack from his original one and a stack from the one you got from the guy then it sounds to me like you are mixing a p10 gear stack and a b13 stack. Ask the guy to tell you if the tranny came out a g20.
What you will see is that the fifth gear is different, the p10 on the output shaft stack is larger in diameter than the b13. The teeth count will be the same. Nothing to do with the bearing.
Just what I know and seen. Gl

I have mixed and matched and ran into these issues already.

Thing is we didnt switch the 5th gear stack, but the we did the 1-4th stack, the one that runs through the input shaft. the 5th gear stack is the same that was in there. thats why were saying it seems the bearing at the top of the 1-4th stack isnt fitting through as well. Heres a pic copy of what im talking about.

This is the hole were having issues with with this stack.

From what ive read, they say it wotn go straight down, we tried it at angles and twisting it, and using a rubber mallet, so much fun this is the last aprt holding us up, or so we hope
