might just be cheaper to get one of these and use what you need and have spares.

Agreed. A basic cold air shouldnt run you more than $30-$40 when all is said and done.

I know. Buying premade is expensive. Doing your own isnt. That was my point.

Techincally I already have a CAI but the pipe is about 2.5" or maybe even 2" and I would like to have a 3" lol :P
I dunno how to make it myself as in I'll probably order too many parts and not even need them all

I'll just have to buy a SR intake for the pipe and use my existing CAI piping so I can spend the rest on ball joints and tie rod ends

Well, that's true and the upper pipe in that kit looks like it has the correct nipples. Combine that with a popcharger/flowstack and one of those filters Dre is selling and you could have a really nice intake for under $150.

6 bucks for a coupler? you might as well just go down to autozone/advance/pep boys and grabe the coupler there as it will cost the same if not less. it also comes with clamps.

I took a 30* mandrel exhaust pipe, a step down coupler and drilled the appropriate holes, attached some old male bungs I took off an old valve cover, welded them on, and bam, $35 + $15 for couplers.
