Header Question
Sorry for my lack of knowledge here, I'm still n00b as heck.

I still have this SSAC header I picked up from squirlz in my trunk. I'm finally planning to actually get it installed. Will I need special gaskets or do I just use normal OEM gaskets? Any tips and tricks when I get to starting this? I already have the Monza cat back, and plan on replacing the rest from header to cat (including my bad cat). Links to exactly what I will need is much appreciated.

same gaskets as the stock ones. just make sure you get the 2 round ones in the collector and the one on the cat and the ones to the block. you should get 4 gaskets in total. also pick up a can of pb blaster and blast the shit out of the for at least an hour before you start to get the broken loose

the manifold to head gasket is the same. You need a gasket for between the header and mid pipe. I dont remember the part #, but I used to use a percy's brand gasket. Its a soft aluminum gasket so it lasts a pretty long time and is reusable. You can get it at autozone, you gotta look it up under like a 99 integra or something, tell the guy to search header gasket and you should find it. Ive seen copper ones too, but i dont remember the brand and it was in a local speed shop.

idk about the cat, my car is exempt from emissions so I no longer have one but you can use the oem gaskets for it whether you get a new cat or test pipe. Only bit of advice I can give you is thread the egr fitting into the bung before you tighten the header onto the head. Its a pain to get it lined up right if you dont.

edit: I just looked at viprdudes thread and the link for copper gaskets from summit is in it. Forget what I said about the mid pipe gasket.

For the egr tube I found it useful to actually loosen the pipe off of both ends and get it on there little by little

If your going buy a new cat then pop the old bad one so you can use it when you go to any 1/4mile raceway track.

Might as well clean your egr n Change vac hoses while doing it that taking the egr off the mani enables a tight connection then bolt on with a fresh gaskets. Get a oem cat since it is 2.5 flanged
