Has anyone ever seen this happen? Any ideas how to go about fixing it or names of that specific part. i have researched and the closest thing that came up is oil filter mount nipple.
thanks

that generally happens when ppl try sticking a screwdriver through the filter to remove it.

It is fixable, but it is not a particularly easy job. This happened on my friends car and we ended up replacing it with the unit from a Roller Rocker engine and relocated the filter to the side of the engine by the firewall. I prefer having filters there, rather than up top like the standard DE.

The filter screws onto the `oil cooler`. Get a used unit and some new oil seals. Its held on by 3-4 bolts, and you have to remove a couple coolant pipes.

I have one if you need one. Just let me know. You will have to remove the power steering bracket and push the power steering pump down away from it. Then just unbolt it from the block. It seals with o-rings so its a pretty easy job to do. Hardest part is just getting the power steering pump out of the way which is not even that bad.

LMK if you want one its off a very low mileage jdm motor. And yes it usually happens when trying to punch a screwdriver through it and hit the nipple. If you are gonna use a screwdriver you have to put it through at almost the very edge of the filter. But i usually use a oil filter wrench or a filter removal cap and wratchet.

it was getting dark when it broke so i couldn tell if it unbolts from the block or not. the power steering and A/C has been deleted. its very easy to get to. how much are you asking for the oil mount? and some people had mentioned the threaded piece is screwed in and held by thread lock. if we can remove that i can just order another threaded piece and thread lock it back. but im not sure. just let me know thanks.

Don't believe its theaded in man not on the older styles. The newer shorter ones I think may be but even those I think are cast with the unit. 25 shipped for one and I can get it out tomorrow.

I hate it back there! I'm thinking about relocating mine to where the DE has it. At least you don't get your hands/axle/other parts always oily
