Im sorry but asking other people of what "rice" is on your own car is stupid. I think a lot of stuff is useless but i think rice is a bad term.

If you want to anodize everything under your hood in every different color then go ahead, if you want to add a few splashes of color to the engine bay go ahead. Do what YOU want and dont worry what others say. My general feeling is try and simplify everything.

Adding a cusco strut bar adds performance value, good. adding washers does not but it adds personality which can be good. I think your bay is messy, my first step would be to clean it up then work on looks.

Heck i say what the op has pictured will look great under the hood being it has function and form . I allway prefer function more but if it has form than its a double win win. And squirlz if you had the pleasure of going to a "nopi" show and seeing all the chevy cavleirs with splatter paint valve cover and neon green wire loom you'll eat those words . j/k

Did you keep your calipers red when you got the new rims?

The bolts are actually the part I'm doubting the most, I think I'll get them anyway and if I don't like 'em I'll get rid of them. As for the lug nuts I already have a set.

The Cusco bar is functional as opposed to most of this stuff.

For example on my new daily driver project I am using a very bright textured VC that will be the first thing people notice. Once you get into my bay you will notice the pinstriping and all the other detail work.

I didn't mention it but I also plan on filling all the wholes, as for the theme I was thinking of following up on the AN fitting blue/red combination, I prefer one color(blue) but since I will always have the red in the fittings might as well do the red and blue thing.

Catch can - If it flows well (has ports the same size or large than the OEM tubing) then go for it. If the inlet/outlet are smaller than the OEM tubing, don't do it. It will add a restriction to your PCV system.

Plug wire separators - It looks like you could use some anyway so why not? I'd recommend black OEM plastic ones, but anodized blue? I guess... =/

Valve stems - Absolutely not.

Fender bolts - If there are where no one will see them while driving down the road, then go ahead. But drilling out a perfectly good threaded hole to add them never made any sense to me. If you don't have to do that, then I guess that's cool.

Keep in mind most of the engine bay dress-up crowd isn't going to appreciate a "theme" of tons of anodized blue stuff. Less is more here. Pick a main color for the valve cover and then a mellower accent color for the rest of the stuff you have to color. (Red and blue don't normally go together.) Keep everything thing else OEM or nature in color. Do that wire tuck. Think about shaving the firewall and rest of the engine bay as well.

For the plug wire separators I will be getting the black ones 'cause I don't plan on changing the wires and I don't think blue separators would look good on the red cable. About getting the stock ones instead, the stock ones would probably cost me the same and these are a small but nice looking detail.

If I have to redrill the fenders for those bolts then I would definitely won't use them.

About the red/blue combo, I'm pretty much going this route because of the AN fittings color pattern. I'd prefer just blue but I'd still have the red from the fittings and although small they'd distract me.

Same as the car, don't really like different color engine bays unless the car is any other color and the bay is black.

Agreed, I have no issues with under-hood dress-up. In fact, I like it. Hidden away under a "clean" overall exterior appearance. The only folks that get to see it, do so at the owners sole discretion. Chrome, paint, powder-coat, shaved bay, tucked wires, braided steel lines, it's all good if done with a theme/color-scheme that is aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks Shawn, I'm about clean engine bays but want it to have a personality, that's what I want to achieve.

I asked the community 'cause they tend to have good tastes and I wasn't sure about what path to take. For the exterior I knew exactly what I wanted and did it without asking, this I wasn't too sure so I asked.

Thanks for the input guys, it really helps

I'm still contemplating going with just blue instead of blue/red. I know I can get black AN fittings and black spark plug wires. I'd have to find a decent black coil and a black insert for my passenger side motor mount. No idea on how what to do about the FPR, I really like that one and it's too expensive to replace just for looks. I'd get the silver catch can instead.

I know I'm being anal but if I get rid of the red I don't want to see any of it.

Id prefer the one color theme but it would be considerably more expensive. I'd prefer to just have some blue, the inevitable different shades of gray and black. I'll do the math and make a decision.

Red and blue is ugly. Reminds me of the ricer isle at auto zone. I had my bay grey, and blue with cusco bar. Wanted the VC to look like something that would've came stock from the Nissan Oppama plant.

This is how my bay looked before. Sold the cusco bar because i was told it wasnt the best design for fstb, and I thought it was kinda played out. Its alot different now.

Cheapskating all along, but the VC, 75 euro second hand

And also, no need for custom parts bc I'm too dumb for turbo

I put this on hold, 'cause I'm gonna focus on the P11 for a while. But when I get around to doing this I will paint the VC grainy black and if I get any of these parts I will get them either in black or silver.

After looking around I'm not really digging either blue or red anymore and much less both of them together.
