exactly. My wideband reads less voltage at my cigg lighter plug than my ecu reads using consult.

maybe check the positive and negative connection and see that maybe it needs to be retapped somewhere else or maybe the wires are loose?

I would try a new DVM to make sure. I have found a lot of the cheap ones when connected directly to the battery read too high, and working in a parts store I see it more often than I should.

I was checking voltage on a battery with the DVM hooked directly to it and got the same thing. The DVM said the battery had 14V fully charged, but when I put a real battery tester on it, it read 12.7.

That must be one crap of an autometer. I would send it back.

you really should put the voltmeter on the connectors on the back of the gage and see what it says
