DVM. You have resistance in any wires that you run to your gauge that throws off your readings.

Volt meter for sure. Possibly a bad ground connection for the gauge or even a bad positive connection.

That gauge is off dude. It's just from the voltage drop due to the wire size and it being low voltage. Try regrounding and cleaning the connections for your gauge.
