Car bogs, dies, won't restart
I've got a 91 SE-R with a 5spd. It's done this a few times, only when temps are below 25° and the gas level is below 1/4 tank. It only does it not long after I start it, less than 5 min from starting it. It's bogs down and won't rev then dies on me, and there is a strong smell of fuel. It just cranks fine but won't start. If I let the car sit for 10-15 min it starts up like it's flooded then runs fine. While it won't start I can turn the ignition and hear the fuel pump kick on, haven't check the fuel pressure when it does it because it's only done it 4 times completely at random.
It's been suggested to me that the engine temp sensor for the ECU could have a dead spot causing the ecu to see the temp drop to -41° and causing the injectors to dump in way to much fuel and flood it.
Is there anything else that would cause this like an injector sticking wide open? Fuel pump shorting randomly? Any ideas?
