Its probably a dumb question but is the fuse blow?

thats not a dumb question,, fuse is good, I actually pulled it because I was going to check the pressure..

took fuel line off and turned the motor over a few times and nothing coming out.... waited about 2-3 minutes and tried it again , still nothing so I'm guessing the pump is gone??

I had my 1.6 die because the screw to the rotor fell out and it took a lot of time and money just to figure that out. If everything checks out good then it could be a bad ecu. People dont realize that ecus go bad every once in a while. Bad alternator maybe? Sounds odd that it ran fine then just died and wont start back up unless its just something dumb like that screw or a bad fuel pump. Maybe a bad fpr? Just throwing ideas out.

Have you checked power back at the pump ? Its easy to get to by removing the bottom rear seat then removing the fuel pump cover and checking voltage at the pump as you could have posible voltage drop if the fuse is good . If you have good power and ground at the pump pull off the sending line and if nothing comes out then the pump is DOA ! I would check power back at the pump while your not getting fuel out the line .

Fixed

my conclusion to this ordeal,, I believe he ran the fuel tank so low that the pump went dry ultimately causing the pump to die!

oh well this was a great learning experience for both of us thanks to some of the suggestions from you guys on here and a little common sence we where able to figure this one out fairly quick.. the dang rain held us up for a day & half,,

as far as learning I always had a feeling that I didn't want to ever go through this but what the heck gotta learn somehow,,

definitely appreciate everyone who tossed there in for help

i dont understand how that was the problem when you just said a couple of post ago that it had very very good pressure. You sure he just didnt run out of gas and giving her a fill up was the actuall problem? lol

when I went to remove the line on the fuel rail fuel was spraying so I tightened the clamp back down and assumed it had proper pressure...

I was standing outside in the front of the car and when Steven was inside turning the key on he said Yeah I hear the pump priming,, there again I assumed he knew what the hell he was talking about..

the noise he was claiming that he heard turns out that it was his freaking amps turning on (a different story all together with that one) after I changed out the fuel pump and I was sitting in the drivers deat when the key was turned on the pump was priming like it supposed to..

he say's whats that ,,, look he's 17 yrs old and don't know alot about
cars at all... it's probably a good thing I did the actual work because I was originally making him do all of it with me just giving him a and when needed..

we tested the old pump today and it is dead as a door knob,,,

car is running fine now and Steven knows what the fuel pump priming sounds like now.
