Have any of you used their lifetime warranty? How does it compare to say and Autozone brake warranty? They say it is no questions asked. So if my tire thread start to go low, do I just call them?
I had an unfortunate incident with a pothole today and refuse to pay $120 local with no warranty per tire. My price was $88+11 for warranty. Nice.

Cause the two front only had about 300 miles. I bought two front with the anticipation of buying two rear when it was time to rotate. I figured at this price why not buy the other 2 (+1 damaged one)

What ,how could they have lifetime on tires???
I seems like they would make you get an alignment there too,or something at least.
I mean, look at all the lowered cars with "mad camber" How are they gonna treat you if your tires are not wearing properly?
I call BS on this until I here some experiences.I cant imagine them being able to stay in business doing that. What happens if they did...your warr is useless.

Please keep us posted,Ian,because I need new tire for my truck and they are 800 a set,so this would be great for a guy like me who drive a ton of mile every year.
I also have a workvan that will need tires soon...not to mention the car.

The warranty at Pep Boys is prorated and the warranty from DT is probably prorated as well. Basically they credit you the unused portion of the tire toward a new one or if you wear out the tire before the suggested mileage they credit you a certain dollar amount toward replacements.

I just read the warranty. It is 3 years and unlimited miles, not including self inflicted wounds, accidents and vandalism. Lol.

In my dealings with Discount, if the tire still has serviceable tread life and you have the road hazard warranty, they replace it, no questions. I have had tires with road hazard damage that were older than three years replaced. Maybe the on-line warranty is different than the in-store warranty but I use Discount almost exclusively. they match the prices of Sam's Club and the service is better by far.

^ Yep.

In addition, they prorate their warranty, meaning if you have had the tires for say a year, and they they had already worn like a 30K mile tire, but you've only put 5K miles on them, then they will reduce the cost of replacements. You just need to buy new warranties for the new tires.

I did this, and went from Yokohama tires (put 7K miles on them), Discount Tire said tires are excessively worn, and prorated me the remaining 33K miles, so the new set cost me $150 out the door, plus $24 tire warranty.

Lifetime Warranty = For the life expectancy of the tire, not literally "lifetime".
