I had my very first SR rebuild "honed out" .020 over... without a tq plate.

After 4000 miles, compression in #4 suddenly dropped to 140psi one day (others ~165psi) and continued to drop as I drove. The last time I comp. tested it, #4 was at ~120, and you could feel a drop in power, acceleration, etc.

If you don't want to buy a TQ plate, or can't rent one, send it to someone who has one - best to play it safe, instead of sorry, right?

sned it to ERL performance or Mazworx, shipping on a bare short block is only about $100 Thats a lot cheaper then buying your own tq plate

if you have a place that does this they should already have a plate.. i would just ask kunkles pete.. ask them if they have one and if they would use it.. it never hurts to ask
