Also take into consideration that now that the axle bolt is tightened down all the way, I have zero play in my wheel all around. Nothing at 6-12 and nothing at 9-3. & My wheel bearing is new (less than 4k miles).

ok so you have your whole knuckle assembly. your wheel bearing goes in the knuckle. then the spindle goes in. It is the peice that has your wheel studs on it. your axle goes though the spindle. the spindle is what turns when ur axle turns. the knuckle stays put and the spindle turns, thus turning the wheel. u can pull ur axle back through the spindle and make sure the teeth inside arent wore down also.

What bolt are you saying is loose? are you talking about the one that is on the outside of the wheel, dead center?

The bolt was the BIG 1.25" (31-32mm?) that goes over the end of the axle, right before the toothed ring and cotter pin. You can see it when removing the center cap from the rim.

If there is a cotterpin in there and its installed correctly then there should be no reason at all that it would come loose..

Those pitches are to stop the axle from moving and having it come loose can cause some damage to the spindle plus if it comes all the way off you could do some serious damage. If the cotter pin is too small to hold it when its tight then use something else that will hold the bolt in its place. It's possible that this is the cause of the other noises. Clicking is not only from axles but it can also be from bad bushings or something of that sort

Every throwing their two cents in and not making sense ! The "bearing" presses into the "spindle" and the "hub " presses into the bearing and the axle slides into the whole assembly and held tight with the 32mm nut ! If you don't have the nut tourqued down properly it will ruin the bearing witch sound like what happend .If u can trun the wheel while it's raised to check for play on the bearing or turn to feel if it's damaged . Also napa axles are complete junk ! Get rebuilt ones .
