Transmission treatments??
Since I work at autozone I read the labels on pretty much all the products.

I'm having this problem with tranny or clutch. Sometimes it's hard to get into 2nd gear (1st to 2nd) when I drive it normal or drive it hard.

I was wondering if anyone has use these following products:

Prolong transmission treatment

Prolong Transmission Treatment is uniquely formulated with Prolong's patented AFMT™ to treat the metal surfaces of both manual and automatic transmissions. This advanced technology helps to protect your vehicle against costly transmission repair or replacement by reducing excessive heat and friction.

and

Lucas Transmission Fix

Lucas Transmission Fix is a non-solvent formulas that stops slip, hesitation and rough shifting in worn transmissions and completely eliminates most seal leaks. Use in any transmission for preventative maintenance.Use also in light duty manual transmissions to increase shifting ease and transmission life.
Key Benefits

* Contains no solvents
* Lowers operating temperatures and stops foaming
* Can be added to existing fluid without draining any out
* Effective in an extremely high percentage of cases

Do you recommend it or its a waste of money.

Or it's time to change my tranny fluid?

IMHO, it's a waste of money. No fluid is going to make a mechanical problem go away. I think it's time for a transmission overhaul, because it sounds like your synchros are going out. What happens when you shift? Does it bump and grind, and then you have to force it in? Tell me more info and maybe we can give you a hint as to what to look at.

I wont buy it then.

Well how can I say this. usually in the morning or cold weather when i shift to 2nd gear it doesnt go in right in and it seems like there's a delay.

I drove today, pretty warm sunny day. My shifts were good and they all went in perfect.

I suppose this is not normal. What do you guys think?

I just had the same problem when I got my b13, so that I just tried changing my tranny fluid for a thinner one (I just didnt know what kind of fluid it had when I bought it) and the noise was gone. I think that your problem is that the fluid you're using is kinda "thick" and when the day is so hot then you tranny will absorve all that heat and your fuid becomes thinner. So, just try with a thinner fluid and see what happens, in my case I have no problems anymore with my tranny. What kind of fluid do you use btw??

Ohhhh I see.

I'm currently using Valvoline 80w-90, I thinks its the blue bottle or white bottle. I forgot though.

I wanna step it up and use motul tranny fluid.

I've used Valvoline 80w-90 in 4 different manual transmissions and had no problems whatsoever.

Except 5th gear pop-out.

Our manual transmissions require API GL-4 grade oil. Most manual transmission fluids are NOT GL-4. The wrong oil will affect shifting and the life of the bronze parts (forks, etc.). Motul works. So does Red Line MTL (cold weather viscosity) or MT-90. I put the MT-90 in my car at about 5000 miles and could instantly tell there was an improvement in shifting. The stuff works. The additives to improve shifting are already in there.

As a general rule, synthetic oil will improve cold performance in manual transmissions because the viscosity does not change with temperature.

hmmm... so weird... actually that's the one I use and no problem. Either way just spend a few bucks and see what goes on, but I dont think you are gonna see too much difference.
