Evo Brakes on an SE-R?
what do you guys think of putting the red evo brembo brakes onto an se-r?

i currently have the fastbrakes kit and love it, but i'm thinking about machining a bracket to get them to fit on our cars. of course i have to do my research first and see the rotor thicknesses and dimensions and everything else. what do you guys think?

If it can be done, go for it.

Go for it. Write it up once your done with it.

I ask why though? Fastbrakes seem plenty for your needs. This is going on the turbo car right? Are the evo brakes lighter? What is the benefit of going to the evo calipers and rotors?

I'd figure pad choices would be more plentiful for the fastbrakes as well as price per pad being less.

to be completely honest with you, i love the fastbrakes kit. the car stops on a dime. love the look, love the feel, love everything about them. BUT i have a set of brembo brakes off of a brand new evo at my availability and i just cannot stand to see them sitting there.

evo brakes may in fact be heavier but the things look sick. and plus, i am an ambitious 18 year old with an addiction to sr20 powered cars working on an engineering degree and interested in business and allowed unlimited consulting from one of the coolest sr20 guru's in the history of sr20's. add that all up and you have someone who has the drive and the ability to get sh*t made for our cars.

Steve, The gold Brembo from the Spec V is cheaper and should perform the same. you can't do it to the rear since are parking brake is in the caliper it self. I pushed myself away on getting them to long because I didn't want to get new wheel, But I convinced my self I won't like it any other way!!

Sell them on ebay, lol. Your gonna spend a lot of money for something that will not be an improvement. Just for yeah I did it factor. Money you could on spent making the car faster or lighter or some kind of improvement. I'm surprised Kojima hasn't said anything about function over form.

NOw if this setup is lighter then the fastbrakes go for it man. You want a engineering challenge do you. WOrk on our weaksauce b13 trannies. Make it so they can hold up to turbo boost. Now thats a challenge .

Don't take this as a downer man. Your car , your brakes, your money. If you get it done it will definitely be a cool thing. As I look at things though. I'd want a definite improvement if I'm gonna do something.

How much money do you estimate its gonna take to engineer the brackets your gonna need? ALso you gotta make sure they are gonna be safe. You don't wanna lose your brakes. They are one of the most important things on a car. If it was me I'd use the money toward track time. I know you have the race car.
