Is this a good price for a transmission?
Well my clutch is going out, the hole where one of the transmission mount bolt goes is broke and the transmission is leaking so.... A local guy is selling a transmission with flywheel, sensors and clutch for 300obo.. I have 250 max that I can spend so if he takes that offer I'll be picking it up BUT what do you guys think? I only have 4 gears and I'm never below 4k on the freeway getting 18mpg on a bad day and 24mpg on a great day.

Do you guys think its worth it? Thanks.

seems like a good deal for a working tranny . Thats about what you should pay for a b13 trans . Now does it have a LSD ?
Also check for any shaft play on the input bearing and make sure the clutch fork isn't frozen from sitting . I would also replace all the seals while it out of the car .

That's a pretty good price. I just bought one for 400 shipped to my door that just had a Gspec 5th gear set put in.

I just asked and showed him a picture on the site of the difference and he said it looked like a non LSD transmission so what would you suggest I ask for the non LSD transmission with clutch, flywheel and PP?

what year is also important, because of the 5th gear issues.....also mileage and type of clutch is very important.

OEM clutch, unknown mileage, unknown year. He said he put it in his friends car for 2 weeks when his transmission went out and it worked fine

I'd be hesitant honestly. My gut tells me $200 for the whole package, unless he can prove it has the redesigned 5th gear. He won't like that offer either.
