Thread: my exhaust mani gets red fire hot!!

change couple of things on my g20 and now car idles around 2k and i notice that my stock header get red red fire hot. it turns completely red. any of you guys know what can be causing this? i herd bad injector??

Do you have a stock cat on it? I never really heard of people having this problem on here. I would say a clogged cat could cause this though.

Clogged cat. Ive had cars at work with the exhaust mani glowing blue when the cat was clogged

if there is no cat your timing is way off.

X2 whats timing at and what did you change ? How does the car run sluggish ? lack of power ?What year g20 p11 rr motor with cat on the manifold ?

my car was at a mechanic shop trying to figure out the idle problem i guess they did this?

Crazy! Why did you take it to the mechanic shop? What problems were you having?

Did you pay the mechanics shop anything? Not to speak bad, but they may have stopped the cat or something for return business. You may know them, I dont know, no disrespect intended. Just seems like a posibility.

Like mentioned in other posts, cat(do you have one?) or mis-adjusted idle can overwork the sensors and heat will build. There's a few things it could be, but we need more facts to help you.
