I have some ACL bearings In my VET and after only 100 miles the bearings look... different. I tore my engine down expecting a spun bearing because of a noise issue which turned out to be the clutch. The bearings have almost no coating left on them. I am sure the coating is designed to burnish in or something because you can scrape it off with your nail, but it is worrysome. The bearings worked fine and I didn't have any oil pressure issues, but the wear is just something I wasn't expecting.

The bearings have a brownish coating on them and after only 100 miles that coating was nearly completely gone. Funny though because all the tolerances were in spec and the crank turned smoothly when I put it together. Both the crank and the rods had the same amount of wear on them. I was told it was normal, but it is kinda wierd.

OEM FTMFW!

They work the right way every single time for 250,000 miles.

OEM are great bearings, but under hard abuse it seems other bearing materials out perform them. OEM bearings hate high oil temps. But you will prob never have any issues with them.
