Crank Wont Turn & I Keep Getting Broken Rocker Arms
ok heres the deal . before i got to where i am now i thought my starter was bad . got a new one and still doing the same thing . by doing the same thing im say that the motor will not crank over . ive tryed push starting and jumping when i thought the starter was bad . but when i would push start it would lock up . also when i would turn crank pulley by hand it would crank but not crank over fully .

so i removed the oil pans to see if i would see anything . i dont see anything or do i see anything loose .

the motor cranked over before when it wasnt assembled . also cranked in a different car .

so now im at a lost at what it can be .

so you can't turn the engine over by hand?

So you can't turn the engine over completely by hand then? Pop the valve cover and see if there's anything funky under it.

Have you checked the timing? Line up the crank and check to make sure the cam sprockets match up

The title says broken rocker arms.... is this correct?

If it only turns so far one way or the other then its probably something in the cylinder, take the plugs out and check them.

2 other things it could be,
Timing chain tensioner is kaput and the chain is bunching up and jamming the crank up or the clutch / torque converter has a bolt not in right and its jamming against the same place on the bell housing

Try and figure out if its about equal wither direction when turning it. Also take the cover back off and look for a valve spring and valve thats sitting lower than the others as this may show a bent valve, easiest way is to wind the motor (if you can) until the lobe faces up and have a look at the valve height. the rocker arm may also be quite loose.

yep i'd take the plugs out an check in the cylinders.. would also pop the valve cover an make sure the chains right an all that.. lastly it may have something to do with the transmission or clutch/flywheel or something..

the broken rocker arms tell me somethings in the cylinder or the pistons are hitting the valves or something..

You posted a thread earlier that you had recently rebuild the engine and were having issues starting. I am guessing these issues are on the same motor?

Did you assemble the engine yourself?
Are you sure that you put the engine back together correctly. Meaning put all the parts back as they were in order and torqued correctly? ie cam caps? By reading I think your issues started as soon as your motor was taken apart.
