Thread: Coil On Plug

In the tuning section, it says under the VEMS tuning hardware, that CBR 600 coil on plugs fit on the sr20's. Anybody have any more information on this? I tried searching both forums and couldnt come up with anything.

I wrote that section of that thread, and if you search my project thread (in my signature) you'll find at least one picture of those COPs in my car.

It said that there are some modifications that need to be made to make them fit. Could you elaborate on those? I mean the physical mods, not like the wiring/ECU. Also, what year CBR's work? I have a buddy with a 2007 600RR and Im sure he would mind "donating" them to my car .

I'll look for the pics I took, but to make them fit properly you have to grind a little bit on the valve cover. It's not really a big deal. They will fit without doing it, they just won't reach down far enough to make as good a contact as I'd like. I ran the car for a long while without modding the valve cover at all, so you may get lucky. Any year from the first CBR600 to the current models should work. I think mine were from a 2005 or something.
