I've read up into your problems, why not just run an entirely new read wire from the MAF to fuse box to ECU, as well as new +/- wires? Seems like the easiest way for a 100% fix..

thats what i'm going to be doing next week, new maf and new wiring. although you make it sound so easy, it surely wont be.

If you're good with running/hiding wiring it wont be too bad. If I have to do it, I'm just going to zip tie the new wire to the harness rather than cutting everything open to replace the original wire. For the short bit of wire from the MAF connector to the main harness, I'll just be loading up on shrink wrap and then using some of that plastic wire tube from Advanced. & As for going through the firewall, I wont bother trying to squeeze it through where the main harness goes through, I'll just drill a new hole right next to it and put a rubber seal in place, then fill the excess of the rubber with silicone to make easy access for whenever I need to run anything else through the firewall in the future.

are you planning on doing this soon? and can you take pictures? you lost me at drill a hole in the firewall, i think i can avoid that. keep me updated man and i'll do the same, i hope we can both get this worked out.

Probably next weekend. I can definitely take lots of pictures, but my only camera is a cell phone, so they wont be great. One of the few things that I'm actually good with on cars is wiring :P But once the valve cover is off, I'm lost. & If you plan on running new MAF wires all the way, you will have to go through the firewall to get to the ECU (I'm prettttty sure the read wire goes to the fuse box next to your battery, directly to the ECU, but I'll have to double check that).

well i can def. use you're help then. because i suck at wiring. the first thing i'm gonna do is plug in the new maf and pray that it fixes it. should i get a wiring diagram? my dad works at a dealership so i can probably get one.

Wiring diagram is definitely helpful if you aren't great with wiring lol. Or just download the FSM.

Hopefully plug and play works out for you, same thing I am hoping for.
The three wires coming off your MAF are orange(12v) white(Ground) and white/red(5v read). The orange and white are easy. If you haven't already, pick up some 16 or 14g wire, and clip the white ground wire, twist em back together and add in another piece of wire which will go to one of the two bolts on top of the intake manifold (your choice). I did this last night and it helped tons. The orange wire can be run to any fuse that is for something that is always on when the car is on. Grab a multimeter and check the current you have going to the orange wire, it it's 12-14v or so, you dont have to worry about it. If it is reading 0, you just found your problem. You can also check the voltage from the white/red wire. I believe at idle it should read 0.4v, but don't quote me.

I used a butt connector for my re grounding. Seemed a lot cleaner than just twisting up a bunch of wires. I have the stock ground in place as well, just twisted them both into one of the halves of the butt connector, gave it a drop of solder, and soldered up a 14g wire with a ring on one end and the other half of the butt connector on the other, to run from my intake manifold to the maf ground.

My butt connection there? That was part way through before I soldered anything and wrapped everything up. That was one of the pics from "halfway there"

Or are you talking about my plans to just run the new wire alongside the original rather than cutting up the harness?
