i love the sound of a de so much that i'm not botherd by having it super loud

but i would trade sound for speed any day of the week

i love the sound of my s4 cammed DE too, around 7k rpm it sounds like a high strung race motor to me

Best sounding motor is a VE with N1 cams and 3" exhaust, it will make heads turn.

Just some fat to chew on... Not arguing, just saying what I have seen in person.

I have a car friend with a GT-S w/ only intake, exhaust, and a stock port matched header running low 14.3's trapping mid 90's on street tires and no LSD. That's multiple lengths at the strip.

He absolutely rips on every de'd sentra I have seen him dig on. every n/a mod you can do to a de aside from pulleys... unless you have a lot of weight reduction, or have higher compression... DE won't touch it from a roll.

He romps on my 200, it has jwt cams, cold air intake, thermoblok spacers, 8.8 flywheel, 2.5" header, 2.5 exhaust, act clutch, and a short shifter.

In the end I still prefer a modded DE, as I have lots of faith in it, its fun to drive, cheap, reliable... but imo mod for mod you won't touch a GTS, RSX-S, etc. unless you spend at least enough money that it would cost to buy a VE in the first place.

^ this i believe, and i think that is why DET with b13/14 are the way to go, because it puts the car into a great weight to power ratio and makes it hard to touch, not the mention when you start modding then even farther. not really another car that can touch it pound for power...at least i think

I've gone there with him myself when I had my sentra. Consistent 2.1 60's no LSD, mid 90s traps. It just like VE, when the cam pops it scoots. Not to mention is has good gearing in higher gears...

naw man, no spray... they come with like 180hp from the factory. Variable Lift makes for good power.

Ve is where it's at if there was a de v. ve debate.

That's very possible... 00-01 GT-S were hitting 175-180whp with IE and were the quickest celicas in that generation... 02's Toyota detuned them... then sometime in 05 or so, Lotus took the same motor and dropped it in the Elise and gave it some bawls again.
