Battery Terminals.
So, I picked up some new terminals as mine are all corroded and ugly. I am curious about the random red clip onto the stock positive terminal, what is it for? What should I do with it when I put my new terminals on, just clip the wire from the plug and run it right in with the main wire?

Yah just get rid of the plug situation and hook it in with the main wire. I believe technically it's for power for everything except the starter. The thick wire is for the starter, the smaller wire is for everything else.

Now that i think about it, I think the red plug holds some sort of fuse or something silly that I've never seen the need for. IMO it's only there to go bad and cause you hundreds of hours of diagnostic time pulling your hair out. =D

I used Vadim's method when I replaced my positive terminal too. Worked great and it was cheap.

To thread jack, what have people used to clean up the positive battery cable mess when the battery is in the trunk (connecting the new positive battery cable from trunk to the engine bay positive battery cable)?

Edit: Nevermind, battery distribution block is the answer.

Yep, picked up some nice big heavy duty terminals at Wally World for $3. Going to do it tomorrow. I like his idea of keeping the fuse block.

Though, I will solder the wires to the new terminal as well.

Doesn't that red connector go straight to the fuse box? I didn't even know it had a fuse in it I just chopped mine off because it broke and put a ring terminal on it called it good lol... it looks nicer I think. I replaced both my battery terminals with ones like those, one side has the fuse box wire and the other has the big stereo amp wire on it. Doesn't have that cool cover thing on it though like Vadim's
