Damn your engine bay is very rusty.

I have 200,000 miles on my car, living life in PA and it is not that bad.

Anyway, back on topic. The MAF freaked out when your flimsy filter setup fell off. The MAF makes the car buck like you are riding a bull and can stall out. Giving it more gas does not help because that wants more air and that is not being sensed anymore by the MAF.

Get a zip-tie of all things for a quick fix, or a hose clamp.

Get that rust out of ur bay and get a MAF adapter.

I'm slowly working on restoring everything as I can afford to. I don't know what kind of life the car lived before I bought it, but engine wise it is strong. & a zip tie or clamp wont help, the rubber inlet on the filter is what is shoved in to the MF housing.

Also, there is a HUGE difference between PA winters and Northern VT winters. We see massive (sometimes 16ft overnight) snowfall. The roads are always ridiculously covered in salt. Snow is also around from September all the way in to may and sometimes june.

Picked up a universal aluminum MAF adapter from advance auto today as a $13 temporary fix. Haven't put in on yet, but in the list on the back it has B13 and B14 sentra years, so I assume it will work for my 200sx. The holes to mount it are long so it is pretty well universal. 3" outlet. Wish me luck!

Still looking for a nice intake set up though, so if anyone has anything (pipe/adapter/cone) at a good price let me know!

Also, it looks like you have an IAT. What car and ECU is that?

Thanks,

&Thanks for the advice, makes a lot of sense. Rotated it back to stock position.

So, the advanced autoparts universal maf adapter worked like a charm. I thought the car ran good before, and didn't think this could possibly make any real difference, but it definitely did make it a lot more responsive. I guess before the rubber fitting for the filter was thick enough to actually block out some of the air going though the little hole for the MAF in the housing. Now, I really can't wait to get a full intake on there. Thanks for the help!

Though, it did make my car smell like it was running a little rich.. I don't know why i video taped the exhaust, like you could smell through the video or something...lol

Here's a random video of my exhaust at idle :P
