maybe buyin a new car..suggestions?
ok, now that winter is here in good ol' NY, ive been thinkin about getting another car..heres the back story..

i currently drive a b14 98 sentra (1.6 as im sure you all know) and i was going to get all the bodywork and paintwork done over the winter this year so its ready for spring..now since i deliver pizza for one of my jobs..i really cant be without a car, so i was going to purchase another..the car MIGHT be a winter beater type thing til spring rolls around..then it will become the project car..car will eventually recieve a VE unless i buy a car with one already..now here come the questions..

what chassis? (i was thinkin a b13 to avoid emissions in NY which is a cali emissions state)
which b13? i love ttops which is why id love an nx..but theres also the b13 se-r, but i also love 4 doors which offer more of a sleeper type thing..
but also b14s arent totally out the door because im very familiar with them..but there also seems like theres more out there for b13s..

should i get a car w/ a VE already in? perhaps something that may need some finishing before i drive it? i can delay the body shop a little bit..as long as its done before spring..

IDK!

any help is appreciated..or if any of you have a cheap car, or wants to work out a deal, LMK

sometimes you can get a good deal on one that is already installed.. but you'll have to deal with their headaches.

It might be easier to diagnose trouble and maintain the car if you've installed your own motor.

Do it yourself, best advice ever!
.
I had someone put in an engine for me now for the last year I've been correcting all of his mistakes, 6 hours to do an alternator because he put the bolt in backwards, oil leak from top of oil pump cover (headgasket), that spits out oil all over belts, engine, brakes, tire, rim, missing/ snapped bolts, you name it the list goes on
.
I would definatly do the swap yourself, and save lots of headache later on

I'd get a manual transmission 4-door B13 Sentra. Parts are readily available because they made them up until 2006 or something crazy like that. The 2-doors have problems finding door and window pieces because they stopped making them in 1994.

Drive it for the winter and then add the VE + LSD transmission and some rear disc brakes and you'll be on your way.
