must be it.. he didn't think an injector would go bad.. i don't know why..

i didn't find the time to pull the plugs today, i slept until 2:30, had to work at 3:00

You also have to consider your header gasket leaking.

New header gasket installed on my SSAC when it was put in back in June...

I got one of the IR temp sensors, was about $40 at Lowes. I haven't tried it on the car yet, sounds like it works though .

I wouldn't say spark plugs are bandaid fixes, patching an exhaust leak with bondo is . If the gap is wrong then that would cause a rich/lean situation.

Definitely pop out the injector and see if it's bad, maybe switch it with another cylinder's injector.

a LARGER spark plug, in just ONE cylinder - not a bandaid fix??

What do you mean by a larger spark plug? Last time I checked they were all the same size

They will only give you an accurate temperature if you adjust the emissivity setting to correspond to the material of what you are measuring on. Not really a problem most of the time, but something to remember.

250 (C)?? Seems low for a header temperature, and that's likely the reason. But in any case, the scaling alone is at least telling you that the single cylinder is at a significantly larger temperature than the others.

Whenever I've bought plugs for any car, I've always got what the dealer recommended, except this last time I bought copper NGK's instead of platinum...

so I neve have even thought of "different sizes" until he suggested this. Perhaps he meant "more gap"??
