The torque plates being used by us here in the US are not as thick as the head itself. That would be very expensive, heavy and a waste of good aluminum. You just need something like Mike said. 1-1/2" to 2" thick or so (50mm or so). Then simply torque it down as if it were the head. I would not recommend overboring OR even honing an SR20 block w/out a torque plate. It is very easy for the applied pressure to cause distortion or any vibration/movement to cause the cylinders to become chamfered up top.

Great suggestion, they're just up the road from me in Dundee. Been aware of their engineering capabilities from when i was looking for cams way back and they were listed as a supplier... Would be good to go have a look see if i ever get a chance!

Well if they have one, ask them about rental with deposit, after all 99% of the year it will be gathering dust...

I can get you the TQ plate dimensions in a couple weeks when I get back home if you'd like. I usually rent mine out here in the states. If you were interested in renting it, I can do that as well. I do get awesome shipping rates to the UK, but you'd have to pick up near Thetford, haha.

Not a problem. I won't be able to do anything for a couple weeks anyways, I'm in South Carolina for a couple more weeks until I get back home to Oregon.
