Thinking about getting out of the sr20 gang
So I just got into an accident (rear ended somebody), all damage is cosmetic but seeing as I don't have full coverage and no money to repair I was thinking about parting out the car. I was just wondering what you guys think I should do because I could get a new hood at the junkyard and try to bend all the shit bak to make it look decent but I know it will never be the same. Also I'm trying to get kind of a feeler to see if I would be able to part most of the parts out because if nobody wants anything there is no reasonto part out. Thanks guys. I'll post pics later because I'm on my phone.

Just after the Accident

After i bent the hood

After i tried bent some stuff back

I'll have to see the pics before judgement but damn man that sucks... Are you alright?

It would be better to just fix it.

I was able to drive it home but about 5 mins before I got home ( a 30 min drive) the engine started to get hesitant when under load for some reason. Like starting off in first it would hesitate then rev from 1 to 2 grand in the same throttle position. I was able to pry the hood up when I got home and nothing looked bad. It's not leaking or anything as far as I can tell. After starting off and being in higher revs the engine seemed to be fine but for some reason even at different speeds when going from no load to load it would hesitate and jerk

Maybe your O2 sensor got jacked up in the accident, despite what people tell you, an 02 sensor will make your car jerk if its obd2.

Any way, Im sorry to hear about your accident. I was in the same position as you like 2 months ago. It always seems worse at the time. Hopefully your rad support isnt too jacked up. As long as thats straight or close enough too it its cheap to fix these cars. You can get headlights, corners and a grille for under 100 bucks new on ebay. Also try rockauto.com they have a lot of cheap parts. good luck

I just went and looked at it better and it doesn't look all that bad. It's drivable for now at least, the engine that is. I'll need to get new lights and shit. And with the engine acting up what happened is when I pushed the hood down it was grounding out cuz I had a ground from the distributor to the radiator support. So engine is good. Both my fenders are fucked up. It honestly would need a new paint job to look decent after the body work cuz I got hit a month ago on one fender an the other the paint is completely peeling and that side hit the trucks bumper. So guys is it worth keeping and sinking a little more money into it for the repairs or should I stop now?

How much do you like your car? If it doesn't have issues with rust it might be worth keeping. 2 front fenders, hood and lights should be easily found on a decent B13 shell in the junkyards. A pic & pull yard is your friend. As mentioned Ebay or Rock Auto is a good source if you're looking for new parts.

I like my car a lot but im almost to the point where im fed up with putting money into it. And one of my problems is that it is a b14 and theres not many of them in the junkyard although i have lucked out a couple times.
